How to Join Our Choir

Our Choir Membership

Members of the choir are highly diverse in age and in background. Some have been singing all their lives and can read music fairly well, while for others this will be the first time in their adult lives that they have participated in singing in group harmony. Recognizing that people come with varying backgrounds in singing, we begin each season by learning some short songs which are easy to pick up aurally, as we slowly introduce some of the repertoire that will be performed in the concerts.

Every effort will be made to help newcomers feel supported and welcome by: assisting people with placement in their section, providing explanation of the sheet music, teaching songs in accessible segments, and providing access to online audio parts files to support home practice.

Registration & Fees

Spring 2025

There will be orientation sessions with Denis for anyone interested in joining the choir from 6:30 to 7:00 PM on the first two Monday evenings of the 2025 Spring season, March 3 and 10. During the orientation, Denis will share some background about the choir and how we operate, as well as answering questions you may have.

We rehearse from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the beautiful Unitarian Church, 5575 West Saanich Road. (across from the Red Barn Market).

Fees for the season February – June are $200. There is some flexibility if finances are an issue – nobody misses choir because of lack of funds!
